Well this time in Athens we got to see the sights at last! (Two years ago we only got to see the inside of an MRI clinic)
We took the X80 express local bus to the Acropolis. The tickets were sold very close to the exit of the port and were 4 euro for a metro and bus day pass. Within 20 minutes or so of disembarking, we were running up the ramps and steps to the plateau where the Parthenon ruins are.
We ended up getting there well ahead of the crowds. There were only four other people there when we arrived at the summit. None of the photos has been photoshopped to remove people.
The Parthenon was a bit smaller than Cassio expected it to be. We have seen houses that are about the same size. Still, the columns are impressive. For me, there were some friendly feline residents to make us feel welcome.
We walked a lot and saw most of the ancient Greek places in the vicinity as well as the famous Plaka shopping district. We made the most out of the short port stay.
