You would not believe the number of people Cassio successfully omitted from the frame when taking this photograph of the famous "Little Mermaid" Sculpture. He has a skill in capturing an image in crowded places and managing to give the impression that we are all alone. Sometimes we are, but in this case, definitely not. I am impressed.
The architecture in Copenhagen had some similarities to that of Holland, but I found it more stark overall. Not as warm. Flat. Simple. Economical. It felt like the idea of frills and baubles was wasteful. Don't get me wrong, it isn't completely like that, but the overall impression was of austerity.
Setting up the antique market in a square. There was some jaw dropping ceramic and porcelain design work that Denmark is famous for. I did some drooling, I confess. I am sure that there are bargains to be found, but they must have been few and far between. Not cheap, but there was quality.
Above and below are pictures of the Royal Library Garden
Love locks on the Bryggbroen overlooking a colourful, touristy promenade and canal.
Remember what I wrote about Cassio being able to remove the people in the first pic? This is that same moment and there were scads more people along the edge of the water on both sides.
The Kastellet citadel is surrounded by water and high sloping hills.
It has pretty paths to walk on and various buildings, including this windmill.
My preferred windmill is this type, shown above. Look at the size of the thing! Many countries in Europe are really investing in green energy. It is nice to see.
